Position Summary:
Frankston Packaging is seeking a skilled Prepress Technician to join our flexographic printing team at our Tyler, Texas facility. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for preparing, processing, and producing flexographic printing plates for production. The ideal candidate will have experience in the printing and packaging industry, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work with both traditional and digital prepress technologies.
This is a hands-on technical role within a collaborative production environment.

Frankston Packaging is seeking a skilled Prepress Technician to join our flexographic printing team at our Tyler, Texas facility. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for preparing, processing, and producing flexographic printing plates for production. The ideal candidate will have experience in the printing and packaging industry, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work with both traditional and digital prepress technologies.
This is a hands-on technical role within a collaborative production environment.
- Prepare digital files for platemaking using prepress software and RIP systems
- Operate analog and digital platemaking equipment to produce high-quality flexographic plates
- Inspect and verify image quality, plate integrity, and compliance with production standards
- Perform color adjustments, trapping, imposition, and file corrections as needed
- Mount plates to cylinders when required
- Collaborate with Prepress Manager, pressroom teams, and customer service to ensure job accuracy
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, perform minor maintenance, and report issues promptly
- Adhere to production schedules and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
- 2+ years of experience in prepress or platemaking within the printing or packaging industry preferred
- Hands-on experience with flexographic platemaking processes
- Familiarity with prepress software (Esko, ArtPro, Adobe Creative Suite) and RIP workflows
- Understanding color theory, registration, imposition, and print-ready file preparation
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
- Ability to troubleshoot files and platemaking equipment issues
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies
