2nd / 3rd Shift Production Supervisor

Location: Frankston Packaging – Frankston, Texas
Reports To: Plant Superintendent / General Manager

Position Overview

Frankston Packaging is seeking experienced Production Supervisors to lead our 2nd and 3rd shift operations at our Frankston, TX facility. The Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing activities during their assigned shift, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role plays a key part in driving operational excellence, fostering teamwork, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Oversee daily production across sheeting, printing, die-cutting, folder-gluer, finishing, tray forming, and RFID application.

• Monitor staffing, machine performance, and material flow to meet schedules and delivery commitments (OTTP, OTIF, OTD).

• Ensure all products meet customer specifications for quality, accuracy, and labeling.

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise production operators, material handlers, and support staff.

• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and coach employees for productivity and quality improvement.

• Lead shift start-up and handoff meetings to ensure smooth communication across shifts.

• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and compliance requirements (GMP/AIB/ISO).

Safety & Quality

• Promote a “safety-first” culture with regular audits, training, and corrective actions.

• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality checkpoints, and inspection processes.

• Partner with QA to resolve quality or compliance issues.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

• Track and report on key metrics: downtime, run speeds, waste, labor efficiency, and quality incidents.

• Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

• Prepare daily shift reports for management review.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing (folding carton, corrugated, or packaging strongly preferred).

• Knowledge of folder-gluers, die-cutters, sheeters, presses, tray formers, and RFID systems.

• Proven leadership and team development skills.

• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies a plus.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

• Flexibility to work required shift hours (2nd: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm | 3rd: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am).
